Kealakekua All-on-X dental implants vs single implants
Number of Implants
All-on-X Implants: As the name suggests, All-on-X implants involve placing a fixed number of implants (usually 4, 6, or 8) to support an entire arch of teeth or both arches. This approach allows for fewer implants while providing a stable foundation for a full set of prosthetic teeth.
Single Implant: A traditional dental implant is used to replace individual missing teeth. For each missing tooth, a single implant is placed, and a custom-made crown is attached to it.
Treatment Time
All-on-X Implants: One of the key advantages of All-on-X implants is the possibility of completing the procedure in a single visit. In many cases, patients can have their implants placed and their new teeth attached during the same appointment.
Single Implant: Traditional dental implant procedures may involve multiple appointments and take several months to complete. This process includes implant placement, healing time, and finally crown attachment.
Ideal Candidates
All-on-X Implants: All-on-X implants are best suited for patients who have lost several or all of their teeth and are looking for a more stable, comfortable, and long-lasting alternative to traditional dentures.
Single Implant: Single dental implants are ideal for patients who have lost one or a few teeth and want to replace them with a natural-looking and functional tooth replacement solution.
